Castles and Palaces

Yesterday was shrines and temples, today was castles and palaces. Namely the Kyoto Imperial Palace and the Nijo Castle. The Palace was the home of the emperor before Emperor Meiji moved the capital to Tokyo, the Nijo Castle was the seat of the last Shogun before they ceded their power to the emperor.
